We have just returned from a stay at Deanfield, 2 stays as a couple and this our 1st with a toddler. It says something when you keep going back to a place and our recent visit was no exception to the usual friendly reception and lovely atmosphere. Chris (and her daughter Nicky) is so hospitable; she treats you more as friends, rather than guests and is always so quick to offer advice and help. With our two year old she provided her own grandchildren’s toys to keep him amused and made such an effort to make us feel relaxed. The room we stayed in was as usual of a very high standard, clean with everything you could want. Location of this B&B is great, easy to find, very quiet. The breakfasts are great, huge choice and the fried breakfast is exactly to your individual requirements!

We will certainly be visiting again as we have been very appreciative of the friendly welcome and extra touches of those who run this family establishment.

“We could not fault this place one little bit, we found the owners to be very welcoming lovely people, the guest house is ideally situated. Beautifully decorated and well looked after. Every little thing has been thought about from crisp clean bed linen and thick fluffy towels to thick toilet roll and air fresheners, shaving plug etc etc. the bed was super comfy.
Would definitely use again and would recommend 100%”

“We stayed at B&Bs all over England and Ireland, and this was right on top of the “must do again” list. Chris is very warm and welcoming, she made us feel more like friends than tourists. The house is everything you’d want, a beautifully decorated house in the middle of the Forest of Dean. The bedroom had the usual touches, (coffee-making facilities, etc.) but they were done with extra hospitality and generosity. From our second floor room we could see and hear the sheep that wander the roadside during the day. The price was quite reasonable, especially for the type of place this is.
There was lots of information at the B&B of the sights in the area, such as the steam train ride, the Taurus community, (a must see!), and the forest itself. There’s a lot to see and do in this area. We ate at The Crown Inn, and were presented with a gourmet meal at country pub prices.”

“A very well presented family home with 5 or 6 rooms for B & B. Lovely family run business where nothing is too much trouble. Good parking facilities, secure storage for bicycles and located ideally for Forest of Dean leisure activities. The cycle trail is located immediately behind the property so no need to travel to other start points for a good ride round the forest. Also available are packed lunches or just sandwiches – excellent quality and good value. Great breakfast too.”

“I was tempted not to write this review – as Deanfield is always my first choice when I’m working in the Forest of Dean – and I did not really want too much competition for a room. However Chris, Nigel and the whole family (including a really cute little dog) are always so pleasant and helpful I decided to not be quite so selfish!

Why did I want to keep it a secret? Well it’s really comfortable, very clean, blissfully quiet and in one of the nicest spots in the Forest (if not the Country) – unfortunately the breakfast is also excellent and killing my waistline – but then I stay there a lot and it would be ideal on holiday.

I have stayed in hotels all over the world for pleasure and business and there is very few I would choose over Deanfield – remember the banging doors, late night drunken guests, and endless queue to check out – not here. just time for an extra cup of fresh coffee before a drive through the forest to work!

A great place to stay for work or pleasure – please don’t book my room though please.”

“We arrived at Deanfield in bright sunshine and that didn’t change during the weekend. Deanfield B&B was the perfect place for our stay. It is at a very peaceful location in the Forest of Dean which makes you feel relaxed immediately. We had a beautifully decorated room with a very comfortable bed and a great bathroom. I loved the breakfast, it contained all you would wish for and was absolutely delicious. Chris, the owner, is most helpful and very nice. We certainly couldn’t have found a better place to stay.
The Forest of Dean has plenty to offer, wonderful landscape, a boat trip on the river Wye, we saw Tintern Abbey which was very impressive, Chepstow Castle and several beautiful little villages…”

“Had a lovely 2 night break in the Forest of Dean staying at Deanfield. Lovely room, clean and modern, and great hosts giving us tips from their local knowledge. We used the B&B as our “staging area” for walks and biking in the area – all close by and very easily accessible.

P. S. The pub several doors down is the icing after a long day exploring.”

“We stayed here for two nights as a short break. Having stayed in Parkend many years ago, we were familiar with the village- or so we thought.
What makes a place like this- aside from the sparklingly clean, well appointed, modern and comfortable rooms – is the people. Chris and Nigel (and Nic) were delightful from the first time I called regarding securing a ground floor easily accessible room. I knew it would be a great stay.
They are just such down to earth, lovely people that make you want to stay there again and again. That’s why they have so many regulars and have had the business for so many years.
Oh, the breakfast is superb with Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, granola, cereal, full English ( with black pudding and locally sourced sausages and bacon) as well as omlettes etc available to order.
Within walking distance of two magnificent pubs and right next to a little brook, surrounded by the beautiful forest with walks, hikes, trails, the river Severn and watersports.
Thank you so much!”

Christine and Nigel are very friendly and helpful, lovely accommodation and a great breakfast. Room was spacious and had a very nice bathroom. I slept very well too! Secure parking too. Highly recommenced, thanks again!
